Cory Aquino died at the age of 76 this morning 3:18 A.M. of August 1, 2009 Saturday at Makati Medical Center. Cory Aquino died of cardio-respiratory arrest after a battle with colon cancer for almost a year. Corazon Aquino’s death is something to be remember by all Filipino’s around the world. Corazon Aquino dies with dignity, pride and strength. Cory Aquino’s continuous battle for the sake of the people will always be in our heart and soul.

Maria Corazon Cory Cojuangco Aquino was born on January 25, 1933 and died August 1, 2009 in peace. Cory Aquino was been the first woman President in Asia on 1986 to 1992 and known as the mother of democracy. She was the one who started the legendary People Power Revolution on February 22, 1986 with Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Armed Forces Vice-Chief of Staff Fidel Ramos that trigger Former President Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos along with their family evacuate the Malacanang Palace and leave the country. Cory Aquino took oath in the Presidency on February 25, 1986 morning at Club Filipino in San Juan.

She may not be the best president, but she did the best she could to lead the Filipino people to democracy. And she will always be remembered as the “Mother of Democracy.” Cory was a true leader indeed!
